Thanks to everyone for your birthday wishes....the calls, e-cards, birthday cards. It was great to be remembered on my birthday! I miss you all so much! Thanks to Char and Jeff for my gift. Sorry I missed so many of the calls...I did have to work on my birthday. :-( But, it's my own doing because I didn't request the night off, as Bill would be at work anyways, so why sit at home? This way I'll have the weekend off. We are planning to go to Heavenly (a ski resort above Lake Tahoe) and ride the longest
zip line in the lowest 48 states, weather permitting. One of the nurses at work last night told me they are expecting snow in the mountains this weekend...GREAT, I'm SO excited! Anyway, we had a potluck at work on Tuesday night for my birthday, so that was fun. We had lots of yummy food, and I made my mom's yummy Potato's Supreme, which everyone loved.
Here's some info. about the zip line. We take a gondola ride up the mountain first, which is like the Tram ride at Sandia Crest, then we can get on the zip line! I can't believe I'm going to do it, given I'm scared of heights, but then again, I loved the parasailing in Hawaii, so who knows! I've always thought the zip lines looked like so much fun when I've seen them on T.V. and this was my idea, so wish us luck!
A ZipRider Experience
New this year is the Heavenly Flyer, a ZipRider experience, located at Adventure Peak. Enjoy the Heavenly Gondola ride that will take you up to 9,156’. From there, you'll hop onto the Tamarack Express to get to the zip line take-off deck. This elevated zip line cable ride will take you on a high speed thrill ride from the top of Tamarack Express back to the top of the Gondola, a vertical drop of 525 feet. At 3,100 feet, the Heavenly Flyer is the longest ZipRider in the lower 48 U.S. states. The views are spectacular and zipping through the trees and over the Gondola will add perspective, making this an ultra-cool ride. The Heavenly Flyer is open year-round.
